| The boat is an original Venezuelan fruit vessel, found
20 years
ago abandoned on the south point of Bonaire.
There were no signs or whatsoever on the boat so the owner
couldn’t be traced, and after a year the boat became “Island
property”.
The first years the boat was used as a water taxi, until
8 years
ago the Kantika di Amor became the water taxi to Klein Bonaire.
In the meanwhile also snorkel trips were introduced on the Sea
Cow.
Around 5 years ago the Sea Cow was taken out of the water to be left
ashore and alone, until…….
Kerstin & Eric Witten bought the boat with the idea to restore
it to her former glory.
A lot of work was done on the boat to make her “water worthy”
again, and on November 5th 2005 she had her “maiden trip”.
Since that time a lot of improvements have been done and the
boat is in great shape now, doing almost daily trips to Klein
Bonaire and the west coast of Bonaire.
